Chapter 1251
Reuben had always found it hard to say no to Selena. Ever since she'd been a child, he'd never been able to resist when she'd asked for something.
Tonight was no exception. The house was quiet, illuminated only by the soft glow of a few dim wall lights. Once again, he couldn't bring himself to refuse her.
He stared at Selena for a moment before finally giving in. With a sigh, he led her downstairs.
Selena's eyes were barely open, and she seemed far from sober. Reuben couldn't tell if she was just tired or if it was because of the alcohol.
They soon reached the kitchen. As Reuben prepared the ravioli, Selena stood beside him, her gaze fixed on the uncooked dish. She looked as though she hadn't eaten in days.
Reuben couldn't help but laugh. "It's almost ready."
Selena looked up at him with a pitiful expression. The next second, her stomach growled loudly. The kitchen was so quiet that even a pin drop could be heard.
Seeing Selena on the verge of crying from hunger, Reuben chuckled
