Chapter 849
Bethany felt an unease she couldn't explain. She turned and sat on a wooden chair, creating distance between herself and Trystan.
"Don't feel like eating? Was my cooking bad back then?" she asked, teasing him.
"No, You've always been a great cook," Trystan replied after a pause. Then, he slowly sat across from her. "I'm just... not hungry."
Bethany avoided his gaze. The silence stretched between them until she finally asked, "How long were we married before we divorced?"
Trystan's hands curled into fists and said, "One year."
"One year?" Bethany repeated, surprised. She hadn't thought her marriage would end so quickly, especially with her own personality. "It was that short?"
Trystan glanced at her, his tone wary. "Aren't you curious why we got divorced?"
She frowned slightly but then smiled faintly. "It wasn't because you cheated, was it?"
He stayed silent, his nails digging into his palms. Back then, what he did was nearly as bad as cheating.
Even though he hadn't loved Me
