The next day, Bethany went to the hospital after breakfast. Despite Megan's behavior, Tina had always treated Bethany well.
"Aunt Tina, how are you?"
Bethany had asked Tina about her condition, but Tina had always said that she was fine, yet she had been in the hospital for a long time.
"I'm fine now," Tina said, forcing a smile. When she saw Bethany's bandaged right wrist, she teared up.
"Come here, let me take a look at your hand." Tina sniffled, trying to control her emotions.
"It doesn't hurt anymore," Bethany tried to reassure her. She sat closer and let Tina hold her hand. "I'll get the stitches removed in a few days."
The way Tina felt sorry for her made Bethany feel sad. She thought it would've been nice if Tina was her mother.
"What did the doctor say? Will it affect your lifestyle?"
"No," Bethany shook her head.
"Are you lying to me?" Tina couldn't control her tears. "If you don't treat it, you won't be able to paint again, right?"
