When he got there, the memorial service had already started. He stepped forward to put some flowers down.
Megan was crying so hard that she was about to faint.
Samuel, who was standing next to her, was in even worse condition. In just a few days, half of the hair on his head had turned white.
Megan noticed that Samuel kept glancing outside. "Are you waiting for an important guest, Dad?"

He thought about how Tina had still been worrying about Bethany on her deathbed. He figured that she probably wanted Bethany to come to her memorial service.
"Maybe something came up." Megan was well aware that Bethany was unconscious in the hospital.
She purposely lied and said, "Don't worry, Dad. I'll send Beth a text. I'm sure she'll come if she has the time."
Samuel nodded.
Megan saw Trystan waiting outside, but he didn't seem to have any intention of going over to comfort her. She felt incredibly dissatisfied.
