Chapter 56 - World of Pain

Jack was shocked, like beyond shocked by August's action. His eyes dropped to the ground but he was jolted back to reality by the sound of August's voice. "Let's go!" Jack feebly turned in his direction and walked after him. They made their way out - his mind was distracted by the action that had just taken place. Soon, they had left the hospital but Jack came to an abrupt stop. August noticed it and stopped too. He turned to see a terrified child and it reminded him of himself - when he watched the werewolf devour his parents. "Jack," he started, his voice laced with compassion. "What's wrong with you?" Jack turned at him. "How could you do that to the innocent woman?" "Look, I never intended on doing that but it was a must." "I was getting through to her, I know I was," Jack continued, his face agitated. "If you hadn't butted in, I'm sure I would get the information from her without any reason for her to get traumatized when she sees someone with a dagger." A cocksure expres
