Chapter 189 - The Train Sniper
Elsa stared at the window watching the greenery and houses whizz by, her heart beating gently, synching with the rhythm of the moving train. So much had happened within the last few weeks. She had gone through so much in those weeks that many did not even get to experience in a lifetime.
Images of her mother's dead body flashed through her mind and the harmonious pulsation of her heartbeat suddenly shifted to a more erratic one, fear slowly making its way onto her face.
As if on cue, a warm hand found hers. She recognized the feel of the palm as it clasped onto hers tightly. She turned to see Jack's assuring gaze as he gripped her hand tightly.
"Don't worry," he whispered, his eyes reflecting a glimmer of hope. "It's going to be all right."
"Sure, it will," Luke answered, he was sitting directly opposite them. August was sitting beside Luke but August was fast asleep, his head slumped above his sturdy shoulders. "We've got your father, who's a herculean beast."
