Talon's POV
"Caitlyn, get some rest and don't worry too much; I'll take care of everything."
Caitlyn nodded from her hospital bed. Seeing her pallor, I felt a pang of guilt. I realized it was my fault she had to go through all of this. She could have been living her life freely without any worries.
"You don't quite fit my image of an Alpha," Camille said, leaning over the railing to light a cigarette, winking at me. "Let's pick up where we left off."
I turned my face away, avoiding her striking figure. The woman in front of me, with her snake-like demeanor, was not someone I wanted to be associated with unless absolutely necessary.
"I can tell that woman means a lot to you," Camille commented, cocking her head and glancing towards Caitlyn's hospital room.
My heart tightened, and I regarded her warily.
