Alison kept smiling, gently tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear—a gesture she made unconsciously whenever she felt shy. Alison herself wasn’t even aware of this habit, but Oliver, who knew her every move, certainly was.
Not far away, Oliver watched Alison’s shy expression, his face dark and brooding, radiating a tense atmosphere. Annoyed, he lit a cigarette, but he didn’t smoke it, instead watching as it burned down in his hand. His eyes grew colder by the second.
At that moment, Aiston dragged the event organizer toward Oliver. The organizer looked disheveled and scared, but Oliver barely spared him a glance.
“Please, Mr. Oliver, I’m sorry! I won’t do it again!” the organizer pleaded, his voice quivering.
