Alison was walking across campus when Estin stopped her.
"Miss Alison, Mr. Oliver is waiting for you. You need to go for a check-up on your shoulder injury," Estin said politely.
Alison looked at him with a cold expression. "If my shoulder never heals, wouldn't Oliver be happy? After all the effort to get me out of the competition, why bother with a check-up? Is it just to appear virtuous?"
Estin didn't understand why Alison was reacting like a hedgehog with all her spikes out, saying such strange things.
"Miss Alison, Mr. Oliver—"
Before he could finish, Alison interrupted him.
"Oliver should spend his time with his fiancée. They are the couple blessed by Satan. I don't want to interfere and risk being marked by the devil," she said, brushing past him, not wanting to engage any further.
Sensing her intent to leave, Estin politely but firmly blocked her way again. "Miss Alison, please don't make this difficult for me. I'm just following Mr. Oliver's orders."
