The doctor thought for a moment before adding,
“If you experience severe emotional distress again, it’s possible that you could remain blind permanently.”
His words were vague, offering no definite assurance.
“Okay, I understand. Thank you,” Alison replied, feeling somewhat relieved after the doctor’s explanation.
