CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SIX - MEDICAL BAY
He carried Anna straight to the medical bay, gently laying her on the bed. The mansion's private doctor rushed in, immediately setting to work.
"What happened?" the doctor asked, checking Anna's vitals.
"She was kidnapped," Erik explained, his voice tight with worry. "Held captive for days. She escaped into the forest, but I don't know how long she was out there."
The doctor nodded grimly. "Exposure, dehydration, possible hypothermia. We need to warm her up slowly and get fluids into her system."
Erik watched anxiously as the doctor and nurses worked, hooking Anna up to IVs and carefully raising her body temperature. Every minute felt like an eternity.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, the doctor turned to Erik. "She's stable," he reported. "It was touch and go for a while, but she's a fighter. She'll pull through."
Erik sagged with relief, the adrenaline of the past few days finally catching up with him. "Thank you," he said sincerely. "When will she wake up?"
