AURORA.
Thane Quan was Nathaniel Everleigh.
Several hours later rolling restlessly on my bed, I still could not believe it. How had I not seen it? How the hell had I been working for my husband for so long and I didn’t know? I’d never heard anything so ridiculous.
When had he found out? Jesus. How long had he known? These were questions I should have asked him then but I’d been too shocked to bring the words out. The setting had been romantic and I’d half been expecting to finally see his wife by his side. My heart still raced with the knowledge and my thoughts were so loud I didn’t hear Abuela calling out my name until much later.
“Ysabel,” Abuela’s small voice called out and from the concern in her tone, it had to have been the hundredth time. “Qué pa sa, bonita?”
“Nada, Abuela. I’m fine.”
“Sure? I called your name three times and you didn’t hear me.”
I nodded, offering her a small smile. “I’m okay, Abuela. Go back to bed.”
