CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE INTRICACIES
JADE’S POV
I ended my phone call, keeping it brief, as I had made a last-minute decision not to share with her the details of Mark's situation just yet. I decided to explain everything later, as starting now would force me to miss the final game, something I didn't want to do. She wasn't the type of person you could tell something to and expect her to keep it short; she would start fabricating the most outlandish theories to further the plot of the imaginary story in her head, and I didn't have the time or energy for that this afternoon.
I walk back into the arena and do the strangest thing I could do this week. I can feel someone staring at me, so I turn to look at who it is, and when I see that it's Mark, I look away quickly and act like I didn't see him when we both know I did. What in the world was I doing? And why wasn't I turning back to explain to him that it was a mistake? I wanted to, and I did, but with the way things are now, I'm not sure it's a good idea to be frolick
