Chapter 22 - A Lie Amongst The Pillars
With a light ache in his head, as though from the last remnants of a dream, Ramin woke up slowly. His eyes opened to the dim light of the doctor's office, where the stone walls were shadowed by the gentle glow of the candles.
Everything seemed unreal for a second, as if he was still in the haze of sleep. He was then grounded by the pain in his skull, which made him realize that this was no dream.
His groaning, shifting on the bed, attracted the attention of the nearby physician. The man hurried up to Ramin's side, his eyes growing.
“Thank the gods, he’s awake!" The old man said with a tone of relief. He glanced swiftly at a young employee near the door,
“Go, announce to the royal family that Prince Ramin is awake”
The door softly closed behind the staff worker as he raced out of the room. Ramin blinked as his vision became more clear. He felt confused, as if he had slept for too long. His voice was heavy and scratchy from lack of use as he asked,
