Korbyn was still on his search for Raya when he spotted her standing alone in the courtyard, her dark, back-length hair swaying in the breeze.
She stood still, surveying the grounds as if waiting for something—or someone. Though her stance was unbothered, Korbyn knew her well enough to detect the subtle tension in her shoulders. If he knew better, he would say Raya was expecting him.
He strode over to where she was loitering, his eyes scanning the courtyard for any lingering students. The last thing Korbyn needed was an audience for this conversation, especially with the intel he had just received from Adam.
When he finally reached her, Raya didn’t turn immediately. Her arrogant face, still as composed as ever, shifted slowly towards him with a small, knowing smile.
