"Gabe, this is my new friend Liam, Liam this is my childhood friend Gabe"

Gabe stretched his hands for a handshake and Liam took it reluctantly.

"Nice to meet you, Liam"

"Same here Gabe," Liam said with gritted teeth.

"Okay why don't we walk back it's getting pretty late," Gabe said signaling to Clara that they should head home. He wasn't comfortable with this Liam of a guy.

"Okay then, Liam it's nice meeting you"

"Same here Clara"

"Liam where do you stay?" Clara asked

"Oh with a friend just downtown. I will invite you over someday"

"Would love that, I live down the street you can come to visit anytime, okay?"

"Okay, it's getting real

Alpha Liam was feeling stuffed, after rigorous training with the members of his pack he needed some fun.

Eric walked in immediately after his Alpha called him.

"Yes Alpha what is it you want me to do for you?"

"I want you to take me somewhere fun, I feel stuffed in here"

"Whoa, I was beginning to think you lost your party sense, ever since you were made Alpha, it's good that you have gotten yourself back."

"Hey!! Shut up" He threw a pillow to Eric and he easily dodged

"Impressive Eric you have gotten faster over the years" Liam commended

"But of course, I am your beta and the strongest in the pack. What do you expect? If I can't evade being hit by a mere pillow then I shouldn't be made a beta in the first place" Eric said

"So, any ideas where to go?"

"Yeah I have an idea, I heard there is a party in the next town, and humans, as well as werewolves, will be in attendance. Do you feel like mixing yourself with those weak things?" Eric asked.

"It doesn't matter, I just have to lay low and maybe hide my scent and act like a weakling so as not to be discovered by our enemies"

"Okay then shall we?" Eric asked

"Of course, we shall" they both laughed and sneaked off camp to the nearest town.

It was buzzing with music and drinks. Humans and werewolves were all over the place. From the way they dance you would think they were all humans, I guess every one of them doesn't want to let on that they were supernatural so it was an easy thing for Alpha Liam and his Beta to blend in as well. So they both went to the bar to take some drinks. It's been a while since they had fun, with all the training and duties they both had to take on to keep the pack out of danger over the years, they needed this break.

After hours of driving, Gabe and Clara got to their destination, it was the same party that Alpha Liam and Eric both sneaked into.

Gabe and Clara held onto each other so as not to be separated by the crowd.

They walked into the party and Clara was surprised to see that many people, because she was used to being indoors most of the time, and while in high school even their prom night wasn't as numerous as these people before her.

"Gabe? Can you see that? Look how many turned up at this party"

"Yeah, it's quite surprising as well come on let's find a place to sit," Gabe said and dragged her to a balcony.

"Gabe, tell me how come you heard about this party?" Clara asked Gabe

"A friend from where I went for training told me about this place, so rather than go alone, I brought you with me"

"Awn... You are the best, thank you"

"Okay since we've saved a seat for ourselves, why don't I go get something nice to drink?"

"Yeah that would be great let's go"

"I want you to watch over our seats while I go to the counter myself"

"There is no way I am staying here all alone, let's go together"

And so they both went to the bar counter and began ordering drinks.

Eric and Liam were busy discussing, laughing, and looking at a group of dancers that they completely forgot about their drinks for a while. The people dancing were doing that funnily and strangely.

It was quite an exciting sight to feast one's eyes on.

After those groups of dancers left the stage they then went back to drinking and enjoying their freedom.

Gabe and Clara were both on the left side of the bar. They wanted to go back to their seats the one they found earlier but it was already taken so they were stuck right there.

Unknown to Eric who was busy drinking. Alpha Liam was beginning to feel somewhat weird and lustful all of a sudden.

He was feeling actually uneasy, his urge and senses were getting out of control with each second the wolf inside him keeps saying,

"Your mate is here, your mate is here." He began to communicate with his wolf self

"What do you mean by my mate is here?"

"Just look to your left fool," Cole, his wolf self said.

Liam turned to his left and looked up only to find a well-built guy about to walk past him.

He quickly got mad at his wolf and scolded him saying "Don't tell me your mate is a male now, are you a gay Cole? Course am not"

"Don't be silly, you know what, I'll keep shut now. You'll know when you set your eyes on her." So Cole stopped talking and stayed back angry and growling inside.

Liam got back to his drink and then something happened

Someone was laughing and holding onto a guy's hand while holding a bottle of wine. And walking closer and closer towards where he was, immediately she walked past him, he (Liam) said subconsciously

"Mate."

"Eric, Eric..." Liam called out to his friend tapping heavily on his shoulders

"What is it Buddy stop hitting me like I'm some kid dude, Chill am right here, what is it?"

"I found my mate"

"Oh come on don't joke around with something as serious as that"

"I am serious, she just walked past me, and she is my mate"

"Whoa!! Are you serious?"

Alpha Liam lets out a low growl cause Eric was having a hard time believing him.

"Chill okay, where is she then?"

"I just saw her with some guy a while back"

"Some guy, huh... Fine let's put that guy in his place"

They went in search of them and the crowd was not helping matters.

Gabe and Clara were busy drinking, having the time of their lives, and catching up on most of the things they were yet to discuss.

"Gabe, you've indeed grown so much, look at your muscles," Clara said, touching his bulging biceps.

"Stop being all over them like they are that huge"

"But they are, you see, actually yours is the largest I have ever seen."

Unknown to them Alpha Liam was way behind them and he was getting irritated at the fact that some random guy was sitting with his mate.

"Whoa!! Whoa!! Take a chill pill dude. We all know alphas can be overbearing when it comes to such things. But calm down will you? If she is truly your mate she'll be yours. Let's just calm down and watch her" Eric said and Liam just nodded because he is speechless right now.

ALPHA LIAM'S POV

I was teasing Eric and we were laughing after which we began drinking when my body started feeling strange all of a sudden. I have never felt that way before, it's like a part of me was somewhere close by. I can't even explain it. It's more like a force drawing me closer to a particular person. My wolf self was feeling uneasy with each second.

And then it started talking, my wolf Cole is a wolf of few words he hardly says a word even when my parents died he didn't say a word of comfort to me but here he was talking and talking nonstop about a mate wandering around, my mate.

But then there she is sitting and laughing with another guy. I mean I am trying my hardest to control myself but I can't do that.

I can't have her giggling for someone else asides from me okay?

"Eric, I can't control this, they better leave or I may lose myself"

"Dude, you better keep it in we are in an enemy's territory"

"I don't care I will tear them all apart"

"I know you can do that all on your own, but we'll risk being caught by the humans, is your jealousy worth some mass murder? They could both just be friends"

"Just look at them, how can friends be this intimate? It's getting me pissed off" Liam said through gritted teeth.

"Liam if you disrupt them like that, you may push her farther away from you," Eric said

"Okay Cole, let's calm down," Liam said to his wolf self and it just shrunk inside of him

"What do you suggest regarding this matter?" Liam asked

"When they walk out you can just bump into them or something, do your trick to make her fall in love with you, if she is your mate she will be yours no matter how long it takes keep that in mind."

"It's almost midnight we best be on our way so we can get home early, what do you think?'' Gabe suggested

"I guess we should"

They held onto each other then stood up and were about to leave the party when someone bumped into Clara.

"I am so so sorry, I didn't see you there"

"No, it's fine. I'm good," Clara said, and then she looked up to see the face of the one who had bumped into her.

It was a cute face. Short dark hair. A dashing young man.

"Okay thanks, sorry once again" With that said Liam excused himself and left so as not to seem too forward.

Gabe and Clara went to the car and they drove off, while Liam and Eric followed closely behind.

Liam wanted to know more about her, like her home and her species, any details he can get.

So he can keep an eye on her.

When they (Gabe and Clara) got home he walked her to her doorstep

"Hey, the party was fun, I had lots of fun," Clara said while smiling sheepishly

"I had lots of fun as well with you"

After which, they both hugged affectionately and Gabe drove home.

Seeing them hug each other made his blood boil, but he can't do anything about that after all, he is yet to claim her.

So he had no choice but to put up with it and try to find a way to be a part of her life now.

Clara went inside and went straight to her room. She switched on the light so she could change into her pajamas.

This gesture made Liam know where her room was and this made him happy.

After changing Clara went straight to bed not knowing she was being watched by an Alpha of a pack.

Eric then reminded Liam that they'd both been gone from their pack for far too long.

So they both changed into their wolf self and ran as fast as possible back home.
