HAWKE'S POV
"That's productive," said Nikolai as I was sitting on a couch in front of where he was tied up.
"For someone who hasn't fed for a week, you still talk a lot." I continued to write in my notebook.
"Well, you know I've always liked to talk to you, brother. You just like to refuse to talk to me."
"I don't have the motivation to talk to you, Nik. All you talk about is nonsense."
"How about we talk about what you're working on now?"
I stopped writing and looked at him and the bastard was grinning from ear to ear as though he got what he wanted.
"Tell me something about it, brother. Or am I still talking nonsense?"
One thing about Nikolai is his being extra observant. He might have noticed that I am working on something new but I will make sure he will never know what it is.
"You are talking nonsense."
He laughed. Although it was weak, I can tell he was having fun taunting me than dwelling on his hunger.
