Chapter 42 A Moment of Astonishment
Fox returned home to find his parents looking serious.
"Why didn't you call?" his dad frowned, glaring at Fox.
"Call? But I came home on time," Fox replied, feeling his father's attitude was a bit strange. He hadn't done anything wrong.
"The acceptance letter arrived. Why didn't you call us?" his dad said, throwing the heavy envelope onto the sofa and patting it a few times.
"There was no need to. You would see it when you got home," Fox shrugged. "Besides, I got into MIT for sure."
"Dad, you better get ready to fulfill your promise," Fox said with a smile, opening the fridge and pouring himself some fresh orange juice.
"How can you be so calm? I almost fainted from excitement when I saw the letter. Shouldn't you have called to share the good news?" Ferren complained to Fox.
"I told you, it's just a small matter. No need to call about it," Fox said casually. He always knew he could get in if he wanted to.
