Fox's calm demeanor made Jenny uncomfortable.
Why was he so indifferent, with no reaction at all? Frustrated, Jenny stomped her foot and turned away.
"What's up with her? Why did she even come over?" Peterson shrugged, unfazed, enjoying his spaghetti bolognese.
Neither Lucy nor Jennifer cared either, seeing Jenny's comments as pointless.
"She's spending her parents' money, so what's she so proud of?" Peterson scoffed. "Fox is the real deal, making his own money."
That fact alone crushed Jenny's bragging rights. Plus, Fox had thought of his family first before even thinking of celebrating with his friends.
"That's the kind of talk I like to hear. Need another helping?" Fox laughed, patting Peterson on the shoulder.
By now, they had nearly finished their meal.
"Let's move somewhere else to chat. We can discuss our plans for the summer more freely," Fox suggested. The restaurant's quiet atmosphere wasn't conducive to their potentially noisy conversation.
