Chapter 31 The Dance
When I left the building, I unexpectedly saw Kevin poking his head around outside. Kevin saw me too and ran up to greet me.
I told him I was heading home.
Kevin smiled and said goodbye, then added, "I'm waiting for Linda to leave with me. Her speech was amazing today, and I want to celebrate with her."
Seeing Kevin's happy face, I felt a pang of guilt, unsure whether to tell him he wouldn't be seeing Linda.
The person beside me seemed to catch on as well.
"Are you talking about Linda, the one who gave the speech and the flowers today?" he asked.
Kevin nodded.
The man frowned slightly. "You don't need to wait. There are some matters at the dance that need Linda's help, so she'll be staying a bit longer."
Kevin looked confused. "That can't be. Linda would have told me if something came up."
Just then, Kevin's phone buzzed.
After reading the message, he laughed. "She really did just text me, saying she's busy but will find me later."
