Chapter 29 The Anniversary Celebration
The moment I got out of the car, I stayed far away from Alan.
Alan looked at me, displeased, and said, "What is the meaning of this? Are you avoiding me like I'm some kind of virus?"
Standing about two steps away from Alan, I laughed and said, "I just feel like I'm an actress now and don't deserve to stand next to you."
Alan merely extended his hand toward me, his tone cold and firm. "Aisha, I don't want to make a scene right now. Come here!"
Seeing the certainty in Alan's eyes, the belief that I would rush over and cling to his arm, I scoffed and turned to run away.
In this setting, Alan couldn’t even call out to stop me because someone had already come to greet him.
I dodged the crowd, planning to reappear after the celebration once Alan and Linda's relationship was established.
I didn’t want my presence to alter the course of events.
Yet, the thought of the man I once loved lying in bed with another woman soon made me feel uncomfortable.
This feeling was hard to describe.
