I smirked with a touch of sarcasm. "That's because you've never really known me, Alan. You don't have a clue what my personality is like."
"If it weren't for you dragging out this divorce, if it weren't for me considering the reputation of both our families, I would have done a lot more by now."

I was angry, and my words were sharp.
When Alan angrily hung up the phone, I felt oddly satisfied.
