"What? Sandy is missing? What happened?" I asked nervously upon hearing that.
"I don't know. That morning, she went out as usual to sketch and paint, but she never returned." Darren sounded heartbroken.
Darren's voice trembled as he continued, "She's been missing for six months, and I've tried everything I can to look for her."
Taking in his heartbroken expression, I felt sad too.
I stood up and walked to him, trying to comfort him. Before I could say anything, he suddenly hugged me.
Sitting down, his face was on my skirt when he hugged me.
"It's been six months. I really don't know if she is still alive, but I won't give up looking for her..." he sobbed. I could feel his sadness, so I did not push him away and allowed him to hold me.
A moment later, when he calmed down, I asked, "Did you come to work here as a guard because of Sandy?"
