Chapter 2 Icy Blue Eyes.

Charlotte. “Hi, Charlotte.” The stranger breathed out, and I could feel my tummy flip. It was as though looking good wasn't enough, he voice was heavenly. Right from time, I always found pick up lines ridiculous, but at the moment, I was flipping pages in my head to come up with something. ‘Get a grip on yourself.’ I mentally chided myself on realizing I had been gawking at him. “Hii.” My face was heating up at the moment, and I couldn't be more grateful for the colored lights in the club. Else, the stranger would have noticed my blush, and he might think of me as a creep. Well, I wouldn't blame him though, I didn't understand my habit either. But wait, he just mentioned my name. How did he know my name?! “My name.” I muttered and he raised an eyebrow. “How do you know my name?” The stranger let out a rueful laugh, and oh, another tummy flip. If he kept this up, my cheeks were going to hurt from smiling so much. “You mentioned it earlier to Brian. I can call you that, right?” Though I wasn't in any need for a relationship, this stranger effortlessly ticked some qualities I would have wanted in a man. A pretty smile? Check. A clear skin? Check. A beautiful voice? Check. And God, he paid attention to details. I couldn't wait to tell Laura about his qualities. Perhaps he could be my night stand. “Are you okay?” The stranger asked, his face dangerously close to mine. If I inches forward, I would be risking our lips touching. I could feel his hot breath on my skin, and for some reason well known to me, my breathing quickened. “I am fine.” I replied to him, placing my hand on my chest. I had zoned out without realizing it. I was trying to keep my focus on him, on reality, but him being in my face wasn't helping my train of thoughts. “Very well. I'm Damian.” He offered a smile that reached his eyes, before I knew it, I was smiling back. “Hi, Damian.” I repeated, unsure of what to say. Well, a greeting could pass as something too. “So how are you enjoying your first time in a club?” He raised his eyebrow in question and I shrugged. “I don't know. I'm just a little nervous.” “You should loosen up.” He said and I downed the rest of my drink. Then, I slid the wine glass back to Damian. “More.” I slurred. Normally, for someone who rarely took alcohol, I knew it was wrong to drink so much, but I already had some notes taken before coming to the club. Yesterday, after the dare, I had stayed up late looking up people's reviews of clubs, but the one I focused on was alcohol and its effects. “Eating well before drinking tones down the hangover.” A user had commented. It didn't take long for Brian to fill my glass again. Ignoring the burning sensation in my throat, I downed the drink on the go. Now, I felt like I belonged in the gathering, and I felt like I could join the dancing lots too. “Do you want to dance?” Damian asked and I nodded. I guess he had noticed me swaying my body to the beats on my chair. Standing, Damian took my hand and helped me up the chair. Together, we walked to the dance floor. I wasn't much of a dancer, but with the alcohol working its way in my system, I let myself become shameless. Laura usually said you needed to be shameless and uncaring of your environment to dance. I danced excitedly to the beat, and when I felt Damian's hands on my waist, I grind into him. Uncaring for the aftermath of my actions. Slowly, Damian turned me to face him, and when he brought his lips closer to mine, I blinked my eyes to grant him permission. At first, the kiss started slowly, but soon it became hungry. Damian bit on my lower lip, and his hands roamed my body. I couldn't decide where to put my hands, but soon, I intertwined my fingers behind his neck. Damian's scent was intoxicating in a good way, and I struggled to put a name on the scent. However, I could taste the Martini he had been drinking on his lips, and I wondered why I hadn't ordered that too. “Fuck!” Damian groaned between the kiss when I moaned against his lips. It seemed like the kiss was getting to both of us, and at this point we needed to find somewhere private. “Yours or mine?” He asked, breaking the kiss. “Yours.” I whimpered from the loss of his lips against mine. I couldn't believe how raspy my voice sounded to my hearing. I had lost myself in the ecstacy of the kiss and forgotten that we were surrounded by people. However, I didn't forget my plan when he asked the last question. There was no way on earth I would allow my one night stand to know where I lived. Though I would be moving soon, I shuddered at the thought of someone staking out and making enquiries about me at my old address. Holding me by the wrist, Damian and I waded through the sea of people and soon made it to the underground parking lot. There again, Damian crashed his lips against mine and I gladly allowed him. He was such a great kisser. “We should get home before I think of doing something crazy here.” Damian murmured against my lips as he broke the kiss. My cheeks flaked from embarrassment, and I wondered why I was being so naughty in the public. Deciding not to think too much about it, I blamed it on the alcohol. Damian held the door open for me and I got into the car. Turning around, he got into the driver's seat and turned on the ignition. It was only now I noticed how exotic his ride was, and everything in its interior screamed luxury. ‘Perhaps I should get something like this for myself too.’ I thought. However, I knew it was going to leave a hole in my pocket. Though the promotion had come with an apartment, I had spent quite some money fixing other things and paying off my family's loan. It would most likely take a bit of time to get back on my feet, but I was surely going to get myself a fine ride too. After everything, I deserve something nice for myself. I struggled not to fall asleep, and I was grateful when Damian turned on the music. It helped me keep the sleep at bay. Now, true fear set in. What if he were a psychopath that picked girls up and did bad things to them? What if I had just— “Tell me about yourself.” Damian asked, his question disrupting my train of thoughts. However, I laughed. “I don't think I am supposed to tell my night stand about myself.” “Well, you could. After all, nothing guarantees you meeting a stranger again. Well, except you want to turn this into something.” He shrugged, glancing at me. I remembered murmuring some gibberish to him, and soon, I fell asleep. It however didn't last long as I soon felt Damian unbuckling my seat belt and trying to get me out of the car.
