The second those words had left Cayden's lips, Sierra's expression froze, and she felt at a loss.
Sighing in relief, Cayden smiled softly. "You don't have to feel pressured. I just regret not telling you how I felt about you earlier. I know I don't have a chance anymore, but I might end up with a lifelong regret if I don't say this now."
Sierra looked at him, unable to hurt him. "Cayden, you're a good man. I know that you'll definitely meet someone better than me in the future."
Disappointment flashed across his eyes, but he still nodded with a smile. "Don't feel pressured or anything. We're still friends. I won't make things difficult for you or anything."
Watching Cayden turn to leave, she stood rooted to the spot for some time before she finally closed the door.
Once she sat back down, she ruffled her hair in frustration before patting her cheeks and mumbling, "I should stop thinking about it. The competition's much more important."
