Jonah's arrival slightly eased the awkward atmosphere of the gathering.
After chatting for a while, Queenie instructed the waiter to pour the drinks. Yet, as it was time to pour into my glass, Jonah intervened.
"Ms. Nancy, your ankle injury still hasn't healed yet. Why don't you have some juice instead?"
After he said that, he flashed a glance at the waiter, his manner nonchalant. Yet, his words and gestures conveyed an unmistakable sense of authority.
