Evelyn resumed work as Jasper's social gathering companion after recovering from her fever and cold. However, the two of them had grown closer, making the relationship between them more amorous. Jasper stopped Evelyn from drinking and clinking glasses with others during the gatherings. But at times when he had too many drinks, his hands often got busy under the table. Despite enjoying Jasper's touch, Evelyn portrayed herself as an elegant and proper young lady. She couldn't very well flirt with her employer during informal business meetings. With a face like hers, a sultry glance or an innuendo-laden remark could send out the wrong signal to the others at the dinner table. As such, she swatted Jasper's wandering hand away every time while smiling and keeping up the friendly conversation with the business associates at the table.
