Samuel shifted, turning to Brook, his lips stained with blood that dripped down to his chin and onto his white shirt. He looked utterly defeated, his voice trembling. "Sophia saved my life. She suffered so much because of me. I loved her. I was only using Shirley."
Brook sneered coldly. "Then what are you doing here now?"
The blood from Samuel's lips smeared his face, staining his shirt as he stood there. Samuel looked pathetic, with wounds all over his body.
He muttered, "You're right. Why did I come here? What am I so afraid of?"
