When Shirley entered the private room, she found only Nancy inside.
"You're here. Sit," Nancy said with a quick glance at Shirley before taking another drink.
Shirley frowned slightly and sat beside her. Nancy poured her a glass of wine and smiled faintly. "Drink. Tonight, we don't stop until we're drunk."
Shirley drank two glasses before speaking. "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
Nancy's demeanor was noticeably off.
Nancy chuckled bitterly. "Nothing much. Samuel called Cole last night about what happened, and we had a fight."
Shirley's face darkened. She hadn't expected Samuel to stir things up like this. Clearly, he cared deeply for Sophia, unwilling to let her endure even the slightest grievance.
"Did you explain things to Cole?"
"He didn't ask. He just accused me of being arrogant and self-centered. Why should I bother explaining?" Nancy replied, downing another glass.
