Jessica spoke for Cole, who was outside, to hear. Her lips were curled up in a smug smirk.
She then moved closer to Nancy, speaking so only Nancy could hear, "Your father knelt before Cole earlier. It's just too bad that Cole didn't even spare him a glance. If I hadn't pleaded with him to do something when your father fainted, he wouldn't have even cared. Looks like you're nothing to him."
Nancy had long given up on Cole, and she no longer felt disappointment over his actions. So, when she heard what Jessica said, she merely laughed.
"Why aren't you saying this for Cole to hear? The fact that you're comparing yourself to me only proves that deep down, you know you're no match for me."
"I'm no match for you?" Jessica snorted.
Nancy continued calmly, "So what if my family goes bankrupt? I have the means to make a living, and I have sincere and wealthy friends. What do you have? You have a corrupt father who is in jail, an incompetent brother, and a greedy mother."
