Jenson looked up, as though he was hoping for something.
Roxanne hadn't picked up on it. She answered honestly, "Someone gave them to me. I thought you hadn't had breakfast, so…"
"I'm not hungry." Jenson turned her down.
Roxanne had no idea how she'd pissed him off. She pursed her lips, putting the cakes and coffee back into the tray.
Jenson stated, "Leave the coffee behind."
Her eyes lit up. She immediately placed the coffee before him.
Jenson wanted to say something to her but found it unnecessary. As an adult, she was capable of thinking for herself.
"Get to work, then," he said calmly.
