Chapter 56
Roxanne didn't feel the need to explain herself to Sebastian. Until she had accomplishments to her name, any defense would only sound hollow. She believed that strength was the best rebuttal.
Without a word, she turned, got into her car, and drove off.
Back at the law firm, Clarise was already waiting for her.
"You look pale. Are you feeling unwell?" Clarise asked with concern.
Roxanne forced a smile and straightened her posture. She replied politely, "I'm fine. Let's head to the waiting room to talk."
As they walked, Clarise glanced at Roxanne curiously. "How old are you?" She continued, "I'm 35. You're definitely younger than me."
"You're right," Roxanne admitted.
Clarise smiled warmly. "You can call me by my name from now on."
"Aright, Clarise," Roxanne said respectfully.
Clarise nodded approvingly. "Alright." She gave Roxanne a friendly pat on the shoulder. "I'll be counting on you for this divorce case."
"It's my responsibility," Roxanne replied firmly.
