Chapter 27
Roxanne was speechless. She stepped back and nodded at Jenson.
As the elevator doors closed, she adjusted her coat, feeling the chill from the underground garage. The open space made the cold wind sweep in from all directions, and it felt especially cold.
She tucked her chin in and headed for the exit.
It seemed colder as she stepped outside.
She decided to return to the law firm, where there was a whole floor filled with books, many of them rare editions. She wanted to browse through them for a bit.
Time spent studying always passed quickly. Before she knew it, night had fallen. The lights in the office turned on automatically.
Her phone suddenly rang from her pocket. She pulled it out and saw that it was Vivian, so she immediately answered.
"Come out. I'm treating you to dinner."
"Why do you sound so domineering?"
"Mm, isn't that what all the rich CEOs say?"
Roxanne couldn't help but laugh. "Where?"
