Chapter 669 Aren't You Leaving?
Worried that Idris and the others had been spotted, I had picked up the pace, almost sprinting toward the sound of gunfire.
I had been to Lucas's storage spot before, so it only took a second to recognize it, even though a fire had scorched part of it. It looked like only some of the stash was gone; a few containers still stood unscathed.
The fire had not destroyed everything.
Unsure if Idris and his team were behind this, I decided to find a hiding spot and scope things out.
"We're not sure how many they've got, so stay sharp and keep your eyes peeled. Kenneth's hurt bad; we can't afford any slip-ups," a man's voice commanded.
I peered toward the commotion and spotted a group of guys I recognized from Kenneth's crew—his inner circle, no doubt, pacing around with a sense of urgency. My nerves kicked into high gear, and I quickly ducked out of sight.
