Kieran's expression returned to its usual coldness.
The chill wind cut through the air, making him squint slightly as he asked, "Why aren't you leaving? What are you waiting for?"
Emery's nose had turned a little red from the cold. She lifted her head, extending her hand toward him. "Give me the car keys."
Her tone was firm.
Kieran glanced at her, realizing the area was isolated, with no cars in sight. Now, he understood why she had been lingering so long.
He lowered his gaze to her swollen, red eyes and roughly pushed her hand away.
"Aren't you fond of taking taxis?" he asked indifferently.
Straightening up, he turned his gaze from her somewhat aggrieved expression to the desolate landscape ahead.
