Chapter 55 Sunflowers
After dinner, Cruz spoke to Maria.
"My schedule is a bit tight, so I was hoping you could accommodate me tonight. We need to prepare some things for the wedding, and then we can leave early tomorrow."
Hearing this, Maria felt like she had no choice but to agree.
"Alright, I understand."
Jekka offered to go back and get Maria’s things for her.
It was raining outside, and when Cruz saw Maria catching snowflakes with her hands, his heart softened.
He blurted out,
"Do you want to walk back with me and enjoy the snow?"
Maria smiled and replied,
"Sure."
They held hands, Maria’s hand warm, Cruz’s a bit cold. As they walked, they felt each other’s warmth through their palms. Eventually, they reached a large field.
The field was covered in a blanket of snow, pure white and untouched.
Maria closed her eyes and stretched out her hands, feeling the cold snowflakes land on her palms. The snow was icy and felt wonderful to the touch.
After a while, Maria suddenly opened her eyes
