Chapter 142: Jealousy

After finishing the statement at the police station, Maria awaited any further inquiries from them. Later that night, Mace White drove her home, unaware that two pieces of news about her were trending online. The first was about Catherine’s agent being taken into custody by the police. The second was speculation that Eldred, the second son of a luxury family, was possibly in a relationship! When Maria arrived home, she noticed Cruz was there. He was frowning, looking at a photo of George Brown while talking to someone on the phone. “Get those photos down immediately. I don’t want to see them trending. Do it fast!” As soon as Maria walked in, Cruz’s tone changed. After hanging up the phone, he spoke to her in a softer voice. “Everything’s resolved?” Maria only told Cruz about having dinner with Mace White and Eldred, leaving out the issue with Catherine’s agent. Since the matter was still unresolved, there was no point in telling Cruz and causing unnecessary worry. Maria nodded.
