She admitted she had exaggerated a bit when fooling Jesse, but when it came to being delusional, no one could top Jesse.
Jesse tried to climb onto the boat. His hand had just grabbed the edge when Adrian stepped on it.
Looking up, he saw Adrian standing on the boat with his hands in his pockets, head tilted down in a lazy, aristocratic way. He was looking at him in the water like he was tossing scraps to a beggar.
