Chapter 20 Clinging to a Lifeline

After a night of rest, Evelyn had thought about things clearly. This was her first time in Kingsbridge, and she was unfamiliar with the place. She was also without qualifications or connections. She was just a single pretty lady from another place. If she relied on luck alone to find a job, she might escape one trap only to fall right into another.
