25 A Visit to the Parents

Dread was spreading through Sarah’s chest. It was almost 8 o'clock and Zane was nowhere to be seen. She was waiting for an hour for him to show up at her hotel and they were supposed to be at her parents’ place by 7:30 but there was no sign of him yet. She had texted him a number of times and he wasn't picking up her calls as well. Sarah didn't mind him being occasionally late for their dates but this was a big deal.
