Chapter 1140
Chandler kept driving out of the suburbs and entered a courtyard.
In the courtyard, there were two simple red brick houses with yellow light bulbs hanging at the front. In Glendale, where every inch of space was precious, the buildings looked like relics from the previous century.
The main door of the brick house was open. An old man in a straw hat stood by the door with a lantern in his hand, seeming like he had been waiting for a long time.
Chandler held Helen's hand and went up to greet the old man, "Mr. Norris, I'm sorry to bother you so late."
"Not at all," Isaac Norris answered kindly. "This is my job, after all."
He then took a look at Helen and uttered, "This must be Mrs. Newton. She is obviously blessed. You both are truly a match made in heaven."
Helen felt a little embarrassed and thanked him.
"Then, I shall leave you both alone." Isaac handed the lantern to Chandler. "Take this."
With that, he went into the brick house.
