My best friend and I found ourselves at the café on yet another busy Monday morning. We had plenty to catch up on, especially since everything was going smoothly with Derek, and I was grateful to have her company. However, the café was unusually crowded for a Monday. With so many customers pouring in from the elevator, we barely had time to chat at first.
The Avalon neighborhood seemed to be filled with people wearing the telltale signs of Monday blues, their tired expressions betraying their weekend escapades. It felt like everyone was recovering from a wild party, with even middle-aged folks sporting hangovers. It was reminiscent of being in a college dorm after a big weekend bash, with everyone looking half-dead. Despite my father waking up in a grumpy mood, I was feeling fantastic and had a positive attitude.
