Chapter 1283 An Annoying Fly
Simon had a social engagement that day. As fate would have it, it was held at the same hotel Alba was at.
The private room was filled with the pungent smell of cigarettes because the other men were smoking. It was so bad that Simon excused himself to the washroom to get a breath of fresh air. He had just stepped out of the private room when he heard a girl talking.
Her voice sounded smart, elegant, and lively.
Furthermore, she sounded like a voice that he had gotten familiar with these days. Simon turned the corner to see a tall and leggy girl leaning by the window, talking on the phone.
“Why do I want to bring him along?” Alba said. “The party tonight may seem like any regular party but I bet there’s going to be plenty of bloodshed throughout the night. Nobody in the right mind would want to attend this party if they had a choice. Besides, we’re fake. It’s not appropriate of me to drag him along when I know that I’m bound to get criticized in this event.”
There was a brief pause.
