Chapter 147 "The Dance" Part 2

She must have slapped someone.

" No, babe, don't come near me. "

That was when I had to look.

When I did, I saw Elijah, Jake, Andrew, Matthew, Duke, and Joseph standing in front of Emilia, staring at the ground.

" Avery is right." We are monsters," she said, and that was when I gasped and that when I didn't realize they all looked over at me.

That was when I ran.

I ran fast as I could.

I don't know where I was going, but I knew I wanted out of here.

I ignored whoever was following me. I didn't know I was hearing fast pacing footsteps and voices trying to get me to stop.

I kept running as fast as I could, and I wiped my eyes because I needed to see where I was going. I didn't want to run into a tree or, worst, fall off a cliff.

I do know I am still in the school parking lot.

That was when I heard voices behind me.

They asked me to stop.

"Stop! "Avery," I heard a deep manly voice
