Cordelia had a feeling of self-inflicted embarrassment and trouble. She knew she shouldn't have smiled at Benedict.
She crossed her arms and snorted. "That's what I meant. I hope you can be straightforward when the time comes!"
"Rest assured. I'm definitely more straightforward than you."
The two of them walked in silence and didn't speak a word, facing each other's backs like long-time enemies.
They arrived at the company.
Cordelia looked at the desk filled with files and sighed. "Why so much work today?"
Richard explained. "These are all arranged by Mr. Radcliffe. How about I try persuading him to reduce your workload?"
"No need. Asking him for mercy is useless. I can handle it. Thanks, Richard."
Cordelia started working hard. She had principles and wouldn't take the salary for granted.
She organized most of the work in the morning and brought the documents needed to sign into the CEO's office.
"These documents need your signature. Also, are you having lunch at the office?"
