Chapter 41 The Fever
Cordelia rushed to the bus stop, her clothes soaked by the time she arrived.
The cold wind made her feel like she was submerged in icy water. Her delicate fingers turned pale. After waiting for over half an hour, her head felt as heavy as if it were carrying two stones as she boarded the bus.
Upon getting off, she realized she had taken the wrong bus and ended up back at the estate entrance.
Drenched, she shivered, teeth clenched, contemplating returning to change into dry clothes.
Her petite figure vanished in the rain, only visible under the lampposts, a small cat abandoned on the roadside.
