Cordelia hesitated, her brow furrowing slightly as she recognized Benedict. She pushed him away and swiftly picked up the files scattered on the ground.
"Cordelia, I'm talking to you!" Benedict's voice was laden with suppressed anger, cutting through the air as if it could pierce through solid objects.
Still, Cordelia ignored him. He had intentionally shut her out, not answering calls, claiming that once she walked out that door, they were done.
Cordelia raised her gaze, her tone ice-cold, and she said, "If you find my actions embarrassing, then hurry up and hand me the divorce papers to sign. Once we're divorced, we'll have nothing to do with each other. My life will be none of your concern."
With that, she gathered the documents and walked briskly toward the other office, paying no heed to Benedict's darkening expression.
