Cordelia couldn't bring herself to grovel to Benedict. She hadn't done anything wrong, so why should she apologize? It was all his being too domineering.
"Mrs. Cordelia, a wise man knows when to yield. Mr. Benedict is actually quite easy to placate." Victor chimed in and tried to be helpful.
"I'd only be giving him more chances to push me around if I try to pacify him. Who knows what strange rules he'll come up with to bully me next time." Cordelia retorted.
