Cordelia watched Eleanor's figure as she walked away, a crimson glow in her eyes. She knew that all these years, her father had been tolerating Eleanor for the sake of her grandparents. Back when Eleanor's family was powerful, a single word from her could have shattered what was once a small and peaceful household.
The gloomy light had already cast a pallor on Cordelia, making her appear fragile, as if she could be blown away by the wind.
Suddenly, her slender shoulders felt a slight weight as a servant draped a coat over her. "Mrs. Radcliffe, it's windy outside. Standing at the door will be quite cold," the servant informed.
Cordelia nodded, turned around, and saw Benedict still sitting on the sofa, his expression cold, exuding a mysterious and composed aura.
