Sophie nodded. "Y-yes."
His fingers flicked to dismiss the maid. She scurried out of the study, closing the door behind her.
'That stubborn girl,' Sarkon growled silently, thinking of Maria. 'She should be tied to a chair, then she would stay safe and be out of harm's way.' He let out a heavy exhale, stood, strolled to the window, and stared at the blue sea outside.
The blueness of the sky glinted across his eyes as they glowered. What was he going to do with her?
His hand slammed on the ledge. The beast gripped the window sill tightly. 'Why can't she just listen like how she used to? Why must she make me… so darn mad and worried? Argh!!'
'And that son of a b*tch Karl… Why the hell did he agree to drive Maria out? Doesn't he know the risks? She's less than three months pregnant, damn it! Anything can happen!'
